Climate It varies through the year in the winter it is not to cold and in the summer it is not too hot and can be described as cool and wet and soggy for most of the year. In the winter it's not too cold.The reason that it is wet and soggy is because of the of the ocean spray that comes in. Vegetation & Wildlife Mostly moose and black bears are the most seen in Appalachian mountains. A common plant is the Purple Violet. Many plants are seen such as the Honey Suckle, Fire Pink, Pink Lady Slipper and the Purple Trillium. The Appalachian Region includes many animals like Moose, Beavers, Black Bears, Red Wing, Black Birds, White tailed deer, Blue Jays, Raccoons, Blue Whales and Eastern Blue Birds.The ocean has been used for catching fish for a long time.The farmers there grow a lot of plants but mostly fruits, berries and grains.There are a lots of animals and a common ones are bears and moose.More common animals found are beavers, red wing black birds,white tailed,deer,blue jays,raccoons and the eastern blue bird.A common tree found is the Balsam fir which can be found at the sea level.Other plants that are found are red maple,violets, sugar maple, aspen and Bitternut Hickories. vegetation - Dead maples, Star flowers, violets, aspen, mountain ash, red spruce, white pine, hemlock, apple trees and sugar maple trees can be found in this region. Now thats alot. animals - moose, beavers, Black bears, Red Wing Black birds, white tailed deer, Blue Jays, raccoons, Blue Whales, and the Eastern Bluebirds. In this reagion they have fish, seaweed, rich soil, crops, vegetables, patato and many more.
Terrain The Appalachian Mountains (usually called the Appalachians) are a large system of mountains in the Eastern North America. The Appalachians are believed to be the tallest mountains on earth in the Ordovician Period, much like (but higher) the Himalayas today. Landforms are natural characteristics of the landform they include mountains,hills,plains,rocky cliffs, many islands and valleys. The Appalachian region -New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and the eastern part of Quebec These mountains are ancient, but they are eroded over many years into small, round mountain. Appalachia also has plains filled with rich soil for farming. This reagion has is made upof 3 big islands it has, flat lands, valleys, plains, once covered by glaciers, mountains, hills, uplands, harbour and many more. The Maratime provinces are located in this reagion they are Prince Edward Island , New Brunswik, and Nova scotia. Most of Canadas manufactured goods and more than 1/3 of our agricultral goods are in the Appalachian region
People The people in the appalachain Appalachain love to fish be cause because there are a lot of lakes and rivers. . Harbors provide shelter for boats and people in storms. They are not only good shelter, they are also an easy access to the ocean. The ocean not only provides transportation. It also provides food and jobs. There are three main/large islands here: Cape Breton, Prince Edward and Newfoundlad. There is also many small islands in the Appalachian area; some of which don't have any services or not very many services and have small populations. The bay of Funday has the largest tides in the world (up to 60 metres). Weirs are used to trap fish with the tides. These are made out of net and wood. The people in the appalachian region would mine for zinc, gold and others. The people in this reagion are farmers, fisherman, cops, fireman, les fortunate , ambulance ande many more. This reagion is called the Atlantic reagion because it is close to the Atlantic ocean. Economy The economy in the appalachian region is fairly good due to the good supply of zinc, lead, potash and salt. Other economy includes farming because of the fertile soil and some sun. Part of their economy also depends on the lumber industry. The economy down there though is mostly fishing because of the ocean. There is also some hunting in the appalachian region.
Other There was a lot of cod fishing as early as the 1400's. The Ocean is used for food and travel. People live within 200 km of the ocean. This is the only place in Canada that can have hurricanes. Many years ago there was a masive hurracane, Many people died. Natural Resources Some of the natural resources in the appalachian region is fish. There is lots of fish because the appalachian region is on the shore of the pacific ocean.another natural resource is coal.Others may include petroleum and natural gas.
